FAQs

  • Yes! Most group insurance plans and health spending accounts will cover up to $500.00 for Dietitian services. I can provide you with an invoice to submit manually to your insurance company. I do recommend checking with your insurance company to ensure that you have coverage before attending your appointment!

  • Virtual appointments are available to residents of Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

  • My approach is open, compassionate, and gentle. If you feel somewhat apprehensive prior to your initial session, this is completely normal! Part of my job is to help you feel more at ease by answering any questions that you have prior to arriving for your first visit. I provide you with a welcome package prior to your first appointment. I am always happy to answer any and all questions that you may have.

Here is a quick breakdown of what our sessions might look like:

Initial Session: 60 to 90 minutes

Lifestyle and nutrition assessment, baseline goal setting and development of nutrition and/or exercise care plan based on your needs.

Subsequent Sessions: 30 or 60 minutes

During our follow-up sessions we will continue to talk through your personal goals, revise our care plan as needed, talk through medical labs as needed, identify additional resources that might be helpful to you (i.e. supplements, books, podcasts, referral to see a mental health professional, etc.).

  • In my practice currently, I focus primarily on providing nutrition counseling support to adults over the age of 18 years. I am actively engaged in continuing education in family-based therapy, as well as supervision to expand my skills in FBT to perhaps eventually work with adolescents as well.

  • My experience also includes chronic disease management, sports nutrition, plant-based nutrition (vegetarian/vegan), pediatrics, and digestive disorders (IBS, crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis) and general nutrition. I am happy to provide nutrition counseling in these areas as well.
