Hello, I’m Nora!

I’m so glad that you are here! I’d like to share a little bit about myself so that you can get to know me better. My name is Nora. I’m a Registered Dietitian with 9 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings, including primary health care and private practice. One of the things that I appreciate most in this work is seeing the impact that having a healthier relationship with food has on the overall quality of life of those that I support. I have a great deal of empathy for how difficult the journey towards a better relationship with food can be, and witnessing others take brave steps along the way is so meaningful.

Part of the journey towards recovery from a restrictive eating disorder is overcoming food fears. An individual affected by an eating disorder often views food from a distorted lens (the eating disorder lens) which labels foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad. An individual affected by an eating disorder may have a long list of foods that they feel fearful of eating. Facing food fears is an incredibly important part of recovery because it supports the individual to begin to normalize their relationship with food.

I’m so glad that you are here. If you are visiting here there is a good chance that you may contemplate seeking support to begin to heal your relationship with food. I’d like to invite you to have a further look around and to consider whether nutrition counseling may be supportive for you. I am a compassionate Dietitian who will support you along the way and who will work in tandem with other members of your treatment team to provide you with the best care possible.

How Nora can Help

I am honored to serve as a supportive guide for individuals on the journey towards a peaceful relationship to food. I believe that individuals already have the wisdom and strength needed to move towards a relationship with food that feels more easeful. My role is to compassionately provide as safe of space as possible for you to begin to explore a different way to think and feel about food.

Support & Growth

I practice from a Health at Every Size (HAES) ® approach and weave principles of intuitive eating into sessions on an individualized basis. I provide nutrition counseling for those who are healing from chronic dieting, disordered eating, and eating disorders (including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other specified feeding and eating disorders). Most group insurance plans including Manulife, Blue Cross, Sunlife, GreatWest Life, Green Shield, and more will cover up to $500.00 for Dietitian services. I can provide you with an invoice after your session to submit directly to your insurance company. If you do not have coverage, the cost of your appointments is considered a tax-deductible medical expense that you can claim.
